Musical Artifacts, Elucidations and adjuncts to Sunday BBQ podcast
This was one of my favorite polka records. Li'l Richard was a true Chicago polka artist, playing in his own band, from the time he was 12 years old. his band really kicks on this one. and the tunes are nice to listen to, while your waiting for the snows of early March to melt away. Li'l Richard passed away in 2001, while on the road with his band in Indiana. He was 58. His pure Chicago style music is still missed on Archer, Milwaukee, and Brainard Avenues. Jim Melka
Thanks for the information. This was one of those "mystery albums" in my collection. I had no basic info regarding this muscian. You even locate him to a specific Chicago neighborhood.. A regional artist. Not many of them left. Always nice to have some context. I suspect most people happening upon this post are searching for the rock n' roller, Little Richard.
